The presenter will review the structure of the Connecting Math Concepts (CMC) and Distar programs. CMC and Distar are both direct instruction programs that teach fundamental skills and concepts of math. CMC is appropriate for students in grades K-8, and is particularly effective with students needing review of fundamental math skills. Distar program is typically used for students in grades K-1 and progresses as a slower pace than CMC. Both programs provide scripted teacher lesson plans, ongoing assessment and progress monitoring. Time will be provided for lesson practice.

If participants have a CMC or Distar program, please bring the kit you are using. Additional kits will be provided as needed.
