This presentation will include an overview of the social, language, and sensory developmental differences of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and how these developmental differences affect student behavior. Participants will discuss the challenging social, language, and sensory experiences our students encounter throughout their school day. Specific best practices for students with ASD will be discussed & examples will be provided as participants examine ways to teach skills and modify the school

This presentation will include an overview of the social, language, and sensory developmental differences of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and how these developmental differences affect student behavior. Participants will discuss the challenging social, language, and sensory experiences our students encounter throughout their school day. Specific best practices for students with ASD will be discussed & examples will be provided as participants examine ways to teach skills and modify the school environment for students with ASD. This training is intended for general education teachers, special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, social workers, school psychologists, occupational therapists, intervention specialists, paraprofessionals, and teacher assistants who are teaching and supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder from early childhood through post-high school.

For individual participants who do not meet the above criteria, certain fees will apply. NSSED reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to low enrollment.
